Ok Mommas.....
Yesterday I had my 25 week checkup. It was supposed to be the quick, heartbeat check, flu shot in and out appointment. Instead it turned into 2 hours and blood work.
My dr measured my stomach and said I am measuring 29 weeks, so she sent me to ultrasound. Baby boy is 2.5 lbs and long. He's measuring closer to 27-28 weeks. They checked my water and fluid and it's all normal. The ultrasound tech said she doesn't see any issues other than him being big. We know for sure I am only 25 weeks because of viability ultrasounds I started having at 5 weeks. Yesterday made my 8th ultrasound.
My dr, on the other hand is worried about gestational diabetes because of his weight and measurements. I had my glucose test scheduled for the 24, but instead, I go in on Monday morning now. She said it isn't a huge deal because I'm having a scheduled csection, but if I do have diabetes she wants me to start the medicine ASAP. She is also worried about me being anemic and suggest I start taking iron supplements on top of my prenatal vitamins. When i go in Monday, my anemia results will be in.
I'm so worried and confused about possibly having gestational diabetes. I have been feeling fine and don't eat a lot of sweets or drink coke's. I have one a day and the rest of the time is water. I'm 4'11 and my husband is 6'4...COULD baby just be big? And be fine? Any mommas that can offer advice?

darlin I've struggled with anemia through my current pregnancy and is currently fine they might make u do liquid iron treatments like I did if really needed but I take prescribed prenatal with iron in it. for the growth the baby could possibly be picking up after dad since he's really big and i was also diagnosed with gd recently and all they are doing with me is changed a few things in my diet literally 2 things and not alot of juice stuff... i go see a pregnancy specialist for gd next week and I don't think it will be so bad.

I also measured 3-4 weeks ahead consistently. I just have big babies, so that's def a possibility! I delivered at 39 weeks. He was healthy and 9lbs even. Some women just make them big! My doc also sent me early for the glucose test and growth scans. Don't stress Mama :)

My baby is just big. Everything could be normal and check out. They were worried about diabetes with me as well and they tested me for everything and it was all normal. There's absolutely nothing wrong, baby is just big. Good luck momma 💙 I'm sure everything is fine.

Girl, my baby was over 5lbs at my 33 week appt. I don't have gestional diabetes. I'm 5'1 and my fiance is over 6 foot, and a big ole guy. I just have myself a big baby lol I have been measuring 3 weeks ahead. My dr isn't worried but she said if I waa still pregnant at 39 weeks she would do another growth US just to check weight again
