she's now latching again but is getting fussy after about 10 minutes of eating! daddy wants to be able to feed her occasionally so is it okay to give her a bottle of formula if I don't have breast milk pumped or is it bad to do both?

Be sure to use a really slow nipple and a supplementing formula because regular formula tends to not sit well with breastfed babies. Also a regular flow nipple may make her lazy and she won't want to take the breast anymore because the bottle is easier.

@arivera64, what kind of bottles? I'm not sure. I can go buy some and supplementing formula tomorrow?

It doesn't really matter the bottle. Just check the nipple flow. it will say fast, slow etc. get the slow flow nipples

If you're wanting to exclusively breastfeed, supplementing will cause your supply to go down. It's wonderful that daddy wants to bond, but there are lots of other ways to bond besides feeding.

@emiswymn, I'm going to pump everytime she gets a bottle. I want a stash of breast milk saved up so she can have bottles of it between 6 mo. and a year.
