Check out the documentary "The Business of Being Born. It will literally answer any question you may have about induction and interventions in labor! It's on Netflix. Helped my hubby and I a lot!

Nothing bad, it does make contractions a bit more intense. It made my labor really fast (I was in labor 3 hours total) but intense. You do run some risk of baby going into distress and needing a csection but that doesn't happen often. Either way after being induced you'll still end up holding your precious baby at the end!
