If they roll to their tummy on their own it's fine.

My son slept on his belly since he was a few weeks old. He was never comfortable on his back and always startled himself awake. Dr said as long as he knows how to turn his head side to side and we constantly check on him its not a problem

@klp16, she can't roll completely right now, I asked because she won't sleep in her bassinet, but I think if I put her in it on her stomach, she might stay.

yes if they can roll. baby sleeps more comfy on tummy which means deeper sleep... some say baby can suffocate bc they can't lift their heads. (s.i.d.s). I wouldn't worry about that but that's why they say 'back to sleep'. I didn't follow this, my son slept on me, on his side and on his back. then when he was 3mo I let him sleep on his tummy and watched him like a hawk. he's 2 now, going on 2 1/2. just keep a watchful eye. you know what's best for you and her. trust your gut dollin. 💖💜💖💜

@dylansmom, she's 2 months right now, and this is my first time letting her actually lay on her tummy, I'm gone to wait a little before I do it over night, I'm to scared of sids.

@rene_74, she's only 2 months....so she's not rolling yet lol. She does seem really comfortable, but I don't think, she will be sleeping over night like this. I would be up all night watching her lol.

I was scared of sids too but after watching him nap on his belly and realizing he didnt sleep well on his back through the night i let it go lol. Shes adorable!! @apples

When they know how to turn there head side to side on there own . My son was on his tummy at 3 weeks old but he had great neck control from birth so turning his head side to side was nothing for him

Do it when you feel she's ready to be on her tummy for long periods only you know when that is . I think babies sleep best that way but when I have my baby girl if she's not ready for that trust me shell just be uncomfy on her back or her side where she's safe lol ! @apples

My son was sleeping on his tummy from 8 weeks on.

Mine girls have been sleeping on there bellies since birth they have bad reflux and it really helps them the have a monitor u can buy also that lets u kno of the oxygen is low

Even if it's 1 in a million which it is way way less than that--that my child could suffocate---I would never put him on his stomach till he is older. That is how I judge certain things. I have enough to worry about than adding more dangerous situation into equation.
