I've got a question about engagement. I'm so confused. went for my midwife appointment on 19/9 and she told me that bubs was 2/5 engaged and he's going to stay there now. however when I went in to hospital for reduced movement they then said he was only 4/5 and now I've been for a midwife appointment Monday just gone and it has a line through the engagement box and the midwife never said anything about it. does that mean he's not engaged at all? and if so how have I gone from being 2/5 engaged to not at all if he was going to stay in the 2/5 engaged position? I don't really understand it :-/ anyone help me out? x

But hun...being engaged or not doesn't really matter :) Being engaged doesnt mean bubs will come on time :) you can start engaging during labour...or just before :) My girl was 3/5ths when my waters broke :) So mot fully engaged at all xxx

Yeh as @winterbaby95 said they can still move. My first was engaged around 35/36 weeks but by 40 he'd moved back up! High enough that the midwife said there was no point in having a sweep. No surprise then I was 12days late lol

Yeah unfortunately babies never stay still, your midwife should never have told u that ur baby would satay in that position as it's completely untrue, your baby may not be engaged at all at moment but could fully engage and bring ok labour within 24 hours and u wouldn't even know the difference so don't worry about it too much u less they say baby goes breach or back to back xx

Oh OK. I'm not worried about him I know he's OK. I was just wondering as one midwife had said something then another completely different. I didn't know which to listen to. I'm more than happy for him to be in there as long as he wants to be (within reason) I just wondered as I was also told to expect him early so everything is ready for him pretty much and then I saw that so was a bit confused. thank you girls :-) xx
