Ladies am I wrong to complain?
My fiance helped me get a car back in February when my other car broke down.
His dad borrows it off and on and lately it's becoming more frequent. He borrows it a day or two at a time.
I just got a job and haven't started yet but I want to have access to my car at ALL times.. I feel like his dad is taking advantage. He has a truck and has to put it in the shop alot. But he had gotten a settlement back in January and could have bought a better vehicle... but didnt..
My fiance works nights so it's just me and baby when he leaves...
I'm so upset and I've told him that when I officially start working.. this shit has to stop.. but am I wrong for getting mad?

not at all its your car. you have a job now he can't be borrowing it. especially since he could have got another one and didn't. in my opinion taking advantage you dont 'borrow' someones car for a day to 2 days at a time. let him know how it is.

Is he even insured to be using the car? I wouldn't let him use it... once in awhile for an emergency or his car had a problem and needs to be fixed -okay. Just because he doesn't want to buy his own car? no way. You basically are stuck home all the time because he has your car. Thats not fair.

@emmajeremy2627 I told my fiance that after this time and I get it back tomorrow... that's it.. I'm done. I can't be without a car. I have a three month old at home and a new job. he's just gonna have to find someone else's car to borrow.

@dcsmommy257 my fiance told me before that if something happened to the car while his dad had it, his dad would fix it. uhm, yeah right. 😒😒 I found a decent car for $3000 with only 70k miles. I'll be damned if something happens to it.

@al_ that's the thing, he's not covered on the insurance and he had every opportunity to buy a new truck back in January when he got a settlement and he didn't take the opportunity. he's not my problem. it's just so frustrating

If he isn't covered I wouldn't let him drive it at all, especially not regularly. That's a huge liability. Hopefully your fiance understands how much of a bad idea it is and how absurd it is to not be able to use your own car.

@al_ he says he's going to tell him tomorrow when he brings it back, and I know he will. he's really good about doing what he says. it used to be that he would barely use it, now it seems like it's happening every week... and I'm finally putting my foot down and saying enough is enough.
