I'm also a ftm and you just search who you want as a pedrication for your child or ask someone close to you who they recommend if they have kids. Call them and let them know you expecting and a ftm. They want your due date and insurance. And you go from there.
I would always look for one and not call them til after baby is born since they can't really set up an appt or anything like that til baby is born , might ask for insurance info but even then when you go into their first appt they will still make u fill out paperwork with baby's info etc. I'm currently pregnant with my 4th 🙂
You can always call and ask questions though and I would have a back up too just in case, I switched with my second since I didn't like my first much after a couple of months even tho my sister loves them, I love my kids pediatrician now 🙂
