After I deliver we'll be getting an electric breast pump, so hoping I will be able to breastfeed (cause I'll be needing it especially once I go back to work). I've slightly read up on breast feeding and how to use the pumps but I probably won't really get it until I actually do it, but anyone have any tips/advice for breastfeeding and/or pumping? I've heard breastfeeding can be hard for some, so I'm not expecting it to all be easy lol wishful thinking however

I honestly didn't have any trouble at all. It never hurt for me or anything. That being said those midnight feedings are rough because BF makes you sleepy. I can't tell you how many times I'd fallen asleep in bed while feeding him. Just make sure you keep a semi schedule so you don't get engorged. It's extremely painful. I'd be too lazy in the middle of the night to pump and end up hurting so bad by morning and my sheets a mess. lol

My insurance covered a medela electric pump but it took a month or two to come in. You can call and ask them and they may send you one free. Legally they have to at least cover a manual pump and offer to upgrade to electric with a fee

@babyjunebug, Yeah my insurance is giving us a free medals electric pump, my dr office was saying it's a good one! We were told we just can "order" it until after she's born, they said it only takes a few days to come to the house and most people have it waiting for them after they leave the hospital.
