I'm looking at my almost one year old son wondering where all the time went? When he was born, I struggled with nursing him, postpartum anxiety, PTSD from the trauma of his birth, trying to heal from my 4th degree tear, my stitches tore, I couldn't leave my bed, I had no family with me, my fiancé slept in a different room, my son would scream out in pain when I touched him because of his shoulder, I cried often. All I would tell myself is "he will only be this little for a short time", I kept reminding myself just to get through this day, hour, moment. I held my baby a lot. I sang to him. I kissed him. I took his photo. Now my son smiles at me, calls out to me "mama!", holds me tight when he is afraid. He is my most amazing accomplishment. I am so incredibly proud of where we are. This is a hospital photo of my love at 2 days old.
