has anyone been induced ? what was your expirence and how long did you have to wait for a epidural?

i was induced but for not your normal circumstances so my experience sucked but as for the epidural once your having contractions if its to much for you you can ask for an epidural

I was induced at 7pm on may 3rd and has my daughter may 4th at 10:49 pm. I was on labor for a total of 27 hours and pushed for another 49 minutes. the contractions came fast but its not "I want to die" terrible. I had NO pain meds at all. honestly for me what hurt the most was my Dr breaking my water. My three biggest tips would be; remember to breath thru contractions, if you hold your breath it hurts worse. take a really amazing support system to keep you distracted during contractions (my mom, dad, and babies father was in the room with me) and remember to stay calm! If you think everything bad that might happen your body will tense up causing you not to dilate.

I was induced , bad idea .. worst labor ever , almost 40 hours in labor and ended up with a c-section . You can request epidural whenever you feel like you can't take it anymore , when i requested it , it took them about an hr get them to come and administer it because they said it was a busy night , so just make sure if you want it don't wait to long to ask for it , because i was in tremendous pain , i was even throwing up non stop from the contractions until i finally said i need the epidural i can't take it anymore , i though they were coming that instant but no they said in about 45 min , i almost had a heartattack, I had to wait that long , but it was my fault for waiting that long.

I was induced twice but this last time was very easy I got the cervadil at 11pm on August 30th and at 4am it was taken out. As soon as it was inserted I started to have contractions but they were not very painful and were 3 min apart. When it was taken out I was still 1cm and they started the pitocin and contractions started getting just a bit stronger. At 6am I got the epidural and my water was broken at 7am and that's when the pain and pressure really started!! I was in tons of pain by 9am and the epidural wasn't helping at all I felt everything and at tbat point I felt the baby come all the way down and felt like I had to push. I pushed 2 times and baby was born at 9:15. So I only felt extreme pain for about 30 minutes.

epidural didnt work for me either ill never understand how it works for some and not for other i asked for the epidural cause i dont have a hogh pain tolerance withing 15 mins it wore off

Tuesday night Started pitocin @ 11:20pm

Water broke june1 @833am Wednesday had her at 11:18am ..it wasn't bad at all..I got epidural though at 7 cm I should've just toughened it out cause I opened to a 10 real quick and when I got to pushing I couldn't feel anything ! It sucked cause it was hard to push I was too numb

Thats true epidural does not always work , an hr after i got the epidural , they decided to do my c-section since i wasent dilating anymore and in the middle of the c-sec it wore off completely , i was feeling every cut , they had to put me to sleep , under general anestesia.

I was I was in labor for 24 hours no epidural but I stopped dilating at a 6 I was told an epidural would help me dilate more which it did I got to an 8 but my son couldn't handle how strong the contractions got and he's heart stopped I ended up getting an emergency c section

I was induced September 20th they started me on cervidal at 10:36pm to soften my cervix then they took cervical out at 10:36am I was only 3cm dilated they broke my water at 11:15am then at 12 they then started me on pitocin at first I wasn't feeling my contractions till they gave me the pitocin the contractions started coming in fast and hard worst pain ever this was nothing like my first pregnancy these contractions made me sick I got a fever and threw up... they told me I could ask for my epidural when ever because I was already 3cm around 6:15pm I was at 10cm it took me a long time to dilate at 6:25pm I started to push and my epidural didn't work at all I felt him completely I could still move my legs witch I couldn't do with my First at 6:56 my son was born .... but these contractions were so intense I almost passed out
