I honestly have never met a nice hamster that liked to be held . I held one at petco once wanting to buy it and it bit me pooped and peed on me and jumped to the floor..... Uh no thanks .

I would recommend a guinea pig or a rabbit. they are big enough so they don't get lost or you can put them on a leash. 😂
