I plan on doing skin to skin at the hospital when she is born. It can be up to 2 hours or how ever long you want. I kind of feel bad that means everyone else has to wait a while before they can hold her. I also feel bad for my fiancé because he might want to hold his baby right away. However doing this is really important to me so oh well😔

I wanted to do skin to skin so bad after my daughter was born. But after she was born they laid her on my stomach then immediately took her and I had to go into emergency surgery. And didn't get to see her till the next day as I had to stay in ICU over night.

I had her at 39+5. My placenta turned my uterus inside out and it actually came out of my vagina. So I had to have surgery to get it put back, plus I had to get a blood transfusion as well.

I did skin to skin with my son for half an hour, then my husband did skin to skin for a half hour. My family came in after that, so you can let your SO do skin to skin if he'd like to. Don't worry about making everyone else wait, because you've been waiting for your bundle to get here

@lizyetter_1991, that sounds so scary sorry that happen. Do you breastfeed? The main reason I want to do it is because I heard it helps with breast feeding

my hospital requires at least one hour of skin to skin. I'm glad bc I never got to have that with my first
