When do you usually get the group b strep? and honestly, how bad is it lol. what exactly does the dr do?

I got mine last week (36weeks) and it wasn't bad at all my doctor used this cotton swab (long) and inserted near the vagina and another one by my anal didn't hurt or bother at all

yea u barely feel it. my doc told me 35 wks she will do mine

@wandal24, ill be 36 weeks at my next appointment so i guess thats when ill get it done 🙈 i have vaginismus and im so worried im gonna end up freaking out over it 😣 hopefully not though

They just swabbed down there. No speculum or anything.

you get it at 35 weeks they just wipe you from your v to your butt with a long q tip nothing painful two seconds

I ended up having strep B and wasn't told I did till I was in labor. All they do is put you on antibiotics through an IV for a few hours before baby is born. My baby is fine :)

If you test positive for it, when you are in labor, make sure they don't over do it!! I wasn't made aware until after the fact that I was given 13 doses of antibiotics... normal dose is 4!! I was ridiculously swollen and numb feet because they were so big

it's really not as bad as you think. like these ladies said they just swab u with a long cotton swab. 2 quick seconds then it's done pain free! just got mine done at my 36 week appointment and it was just uncomfy not painful
