Ladies who had c sections, how soon after your surgery did you take a shower?
@godsjoi, I don't know exactly how it worked but dressing goes over the incision and there is a tube that goes from the dressing to this box that uses an electric current or something to make you heal quicker.
@ajax, that looks painful ☹️️what's a vpac dressing? I took one & the warm water felt really nice @mamaeducator I've never been so giddy to take a shower--I felt soooo dirty only sponge bathing for over a week 😓@br00k3 I went super slow. I hope that I dried it completely. I didn't wanna touch it too much & it's still a little hard for me to see the incision because of my belly roll 😑😩😓
I wanna say day two I showered just go slow and if you can have someone in the bathroom with you to help so you won't have to bend down for anything! the warm water feels good on the incision just pat it dry after! Good luck &&feel; better!💓💓 deff don't push yourself I did and I payed for it after!
@godsjoi , I definitely know what you mean! I never needed or wanted to use the bathroom so bad before! Lol
I was in a lot of pain right after.. And yes I was afraid to shower just like you, lol. But actually the warm water made it feel a little better. Just be really careful.. They gave me a cleaning solution to clean my incision.. Just make sure you dry the area completely. You'll be fine.
I had a Vpac and showered the next day because the nurses told me I could..I ended up with a bad yeast infection around my incision.
Ok. I think I'm gonna try before my son's first doctor's appt. @mom.n.mrs and yeah I still haven't pooped. It's been a week. I had a catheter for the first day and a half and then it took a few hours for me to be able to release urine--it was difficult! I really had to focus lol. @mamaeducator did it hurt?
@godsjoi, it took me 4 days to pee and 2 weeks to poop. Honestly I took a shower and was extra careful with the stitches but I doubt it will hurt. Just don't take a bath until your Doctor clears you.
@mom.n.mrs, to pee or poop? And I've been sponge bathing and I'm tired of it. I wanna take a warm shower so bad, but just nervous about my stitching--that it'll start to hurt really bad or something.
Honestly it depends on how fast your recovery is. I pushed myself a little extra so I was up the night I had my C-section and was walking so I was able to go home 2 days after and showered then. However my biggest challenge was the bathroom. It took me about 2 weeks after to be able to go.
no i had a vac pac its a lil patch attach to a small box that monitor my wound to check for bloodclots so i couldn't take a shower at the time
Ohhh I see! Wow. @ajax
