My son has been having a cold since the 12th. It was a throat and ear infection. The past 2 days he's been throwing up phlegm and has had episodes of bad coughing, but no more ear or throat infection. Also, before when he did have the infection he had no congestion until recently. I've been giving him the antibiotic and a steroid the doctor prescribed. Is this normal?

@ariamommy_ I bet. Unfortunately we had problems with breastfeeding. He never latched because he was in NICU for 10 days after birth, and then he had reflux, and also turned out to be allergic to cows milk protein. I've been using one but it doesn't seem to work much. Usually the coughing is before bedtime and early in the morning. I took him to 2 doctors and both states that his lungs were fine, so I don't understand the sticky phlegm he's been throwing up.

my son had that. took him to 5 Dr and all said lungs were clear. it was a viral infection and it would clear on its own. sure enough it did. all I was given was saline solution.

@jacey3 that's what they told me! 😫 it just freaks me out when he starts coughing non stop and gaggin! He looks like he can't breath. It scares me to death!

me and hubby were like that too. we kept saying its not OK he's not OK. but sure enough after we saw his pediatrician 4 days later it cleared. hope your baby gets better soon.
