No. We got married in Virginia. But I'm sure it isn't too difficult elsewhere. Try googling marriage requirements at courthouse in California.

you just need your id and I remember we had to bring out birth certificates

At the courthouse? My husband and I just went in, got the marriage license at the little kiosk. Went up and then they sent us back to a little room thing with the person who does marriages. (Brain fart) don't remember what they're called. She gave us a little ceremony. We went back and paid and left.
