So if there is no plastic looking ring he defiantly don't have the plasti bell procedure which is what my son had. I would call his dr and ask how to care for it properly. Just remember it was a major surgery I don't care what and dr or study says it has to hurt these poor babies I couldn't stand it when they took him to do it so he has to be sore and tender down there and proper care is essential @angelic_clover best of luck when is his newborn checkup appt our dr wanted his in 2 days after leaving hospital but he was born on a wed and we left for home on Friday so his newborn checkup wasn't til Monday

Really I would call his pediatrician so u can be told the proper care for the type he got. I discussed it prior with my obgyn and she performed the surgery the day we left the hospital so if I had questions I would call my obgyn office but some hospitals the pediatrician on staff does it if the baby's doctor doesn't visit him in the hospital which in my case the pediatrician I choose for my baby was a Texas health Doctor(Presbyterian) but my personal hospital choice was Baylor so that's why his was done that way I'm not sure if that the norm or not. @angelic_clover does his penis have a ring around it that looks plastic?

@txyogagirl, i'm not sure what type was done on him. they gave me a tube of vaseline and that was it.

What kind of circumcision did he get I read up about all three types but only one was practiced at the hospital I delivered so he received the plasti bell and it never needs Vaseline u don't need to do anything to care for it except don't use baby wipes bc it will burn him the hospital gave us pink dry mini disposable cloths to wet with plain water but once I got home I just used my cloth wipes never touched it just dropped a couple drops directly on the head and then I would blot him with the wet cloth just around his balls and the. Clean his but good after about 6 days it was hanging by a thread looked painful I left it hanging and applied coconut oil to the connected part at each diaper change and by morn it fell off then I was gentle and still did water couple days gave him his first submerged bath 24 hr later he was fine @angelic_clover hope this info helps

@nasirmommy, @modifiedmommy20 i've been breast feeding (he is 4 days old) and he's only have 1 or 2 dirty diapers a day. is that normal for s breast fed baby?

I put it on every time I changed his pamper bc the pee and poo will irritate it and the Vaseline coats it so nothing disturbs the healing

but I used neosporin instead of Vaseline

his dr told me for 1-2 weeks. just to make sure that extra skin didn't grow back over because sometimes it does.
