Currently struggling with how to tell my husband I'm not comfortable with his family watching our daughter when she comes, because I feel like their house is too dirty. I'm scared she will get sick. The living room is okay if they vacuum, but all of their bedrooms are so cluttered with boxes, trash, and junk. They have 4 dogs and 3 cats. I don't think they ever clean the rooms or bathrooms. I feel like they're in the beginning stages of the show hoarders. That kind of clutter attracts bugs, and collects dirt and germs. I don't even like being there myself. 😣😣

this is exactly how I feel about where my sister lives. I love her to death but I mean.. she has boxes of stuff in every room, at least 2 dogs inside, cats, clutter everywhere. it's horrible. I hate that I feel so horrible that I won't let my daughter stay there or even be there for that matter. I'm still in pennsylvania for now and she's in Kentucky so right now it doesn't pose a problem, but when we move back to Kentucky it will... 😩😩 *sigh* why do I feel like the bad person for feeling how I do?

@jessicarose0602 That's exactly how my inlaws house is! His parents, grandma, and great grandma each have a cat locked in their room with the litter box in there. Cluttered with boxes, papers, clothes. The bathrooms are gross too. They're her grandparents so I don't want to say no she can't go over! But it's just gross. And my husband grew up with that being normal. So I'm sure he'll think I'm overreacting.

😩😩 I went down to kentucky for my baby shower back in may and I stayed with my sister at her place. it was her, her husband, my brother and they also had her husbands cousin and his girlfriend living there. at the time they had 4 dogs inside, cats, and oh no make that 5 dogs.. the cousins girlfriend had a puppy that she left in their bedroom all the time. it would pee and poop all over the bedroom floor and she wouldn't clean up after it or put it in a crate during the day... but yet she wouldn't get rid of it. I'm sorry but idk how people can live like that. it irks me so bad.

@jessicarose0602 I don't understand either. The upstairs has stains all over the carpet from the animals. And they have a really nice carpet cleaner. But they can't use it because the house is so covered in clutter and boxes. Makes no sense to me.

Honestly this is how my parents house is, and my mom knows it. My dad is a true hoarder. I love my parents to death and my MIL brought up that she didn't want my baby over there because of all of the mess... It honestly really offended me because no matter how messy it is my mom would never let my daughter out of her sight because she knows how her house is. They have 3 dogs and 1 cat Just make sure you phrase it right.. Because I truly was offended when she said that.

@samclark5 I understand and don't want anyone to feel offended but at the same time I'm more concerned with my daughter's health than their feelings. I don't want her laying in a room where there's stained carpet from dog pee or cat throw up. Clutter is one thing but their house goes beyond that.

@harleyann, yea I understand that, my parents animals are house trained so that's not really the issue its the clutter. Maybe just try explain it like how you are to us and I'm sure everything will be fine
