For some reason it didn't post, TO THE MOMMAS THAT ARE HORSE OWNERS: We are breeding a friend's mare (we get the foal) and the stud we picked is a 2 yr. QH The price for next spring was set at $250. The person who I'm talking to is 17 and is not the owner, but the trainer. She just told me after this year his price will go up with training. I can understand the price going up with training for the horse himself, but not his semen? Maybe if he's a proven breeder/game/show horse, but he's not. She just said he's super smart and the price will go up next year, after we agreed $250. Is this girl talking out her ass or is this a thing? I've never dealt with breeding before, so I don't know much about it. The horse we get will be for trails and maybe sorting cows.
