I need help. My newborn has fed about 3x today. I have the hardest time waking her up. And today before we got discharged I told the nurse I'm struggling to get her up. Plus it didn't help that everytime earlier today when I'd have her up they would come and need to run tests on her. I'm so worried :/

I had the same problem with my daughter after we got home. They told me as long as she had wet diapers to not worry, but you could always check with the nurses :-)

when my daughter was first born and I had trouble waking her up I would either undress her or go change her diaper or something. there are little things you could possibly do to try and get your baby to wake up long enough. and I'd also squeeze my daughters cheeks together so her lips would look like fish lips on her bottle. it's hard to explain but i was gentle with her and it made her do the sucking motion to eat. idk if you are breast feeding or formula feeding so idk if this helps at all .. good luck mama!

@lelizabeth, I did and they told me you just need to wake her up and I told them I've tried 😭 she's had 3 poop diapers and 2 pee diapers.

@jessicarose0602, I'm breastfeeding. And she will eat when she's awake. I'm not sure if it was because I was on a ton of medications for the past three days.

while I was at the hospital my girl wouldn't wake up to eat, they told me to take her clothes off & make her uncomfortable. I also wiped her with a baby wipe & that helped wake her too.
