Really they are giving steroids when are u having the section? I've never been given them when they induce me early

@suzie80, apparently because I will be 38+5 days it boosts their lungs to help them breathe better. Maybe it's different because they are not coming out through birth canal? Not sure though x

No idea never heard of that even with sections at 37. Perhaps they are just covering there back.

@suzie80, right I've just googled it, it's a fairly new thing and only needed for sections, with normal birth when squeezed out it helps dry the lungs and free of gunk and they work better. Unless of course you were mega early they may give them just to mature lungs of baby. My consultant just says today that she would most likely be fine without them but it's an added extra to help her breath...which I'm all for lol!!!
