When I decided to have a baby I knew what I was giving up. I knew my fiancé and I would have limited alone time. I knew I couldn't go out drinking or do whatever I pleased whenever I pleased. So I never once expected anyone to take or watch my child for me. I had my son so that I could raise him. I breast feed my son and stay at home with him because that's the life I want him to have. I really wish people would stop asking to keep my son over night or take him away for extended periods. And then they offer to feed him formula when I state he's breastfed! Just no. If you really want to help me out, how about buy him a box of diapers or come over and play with him so I can straighten up or bring us a meal so I don't have to cook? Lol.
I do not see handing my son over to someone as a relief. This is the life I wanted, even on my most exhausted days.

Yep. This is the way I feel although people who do let someone watch their child for a few hours have that right if they want. I just don't want no one to have my son because of how I want him to be raised so I get you.

@junesmommy_15, exactly. I'm not trying to bash anyone, we all do what we feel is best for us and our families. I just couldn't let someone else watch or keep my son over night. I'd be more worried and upset than relaxed lol. I wish more people would understand and stop asking me to keep him!

I totally understand. My baby is a year old and has never spent a night away from us.
