So I took Ethan to the doctor today and he doesn't have an ear infection but they are very concerned about his weight. They told me he needs to gain more weight. He has a follow up next week. I don't know what to do because he doesn't like formula because of the bottle and I have a hard time giving him solid food because he doesn't like it very much. He is 8 months 3 weeks and weighs 17.13lbs 😞😔

My daughter is 6 months and 15 lbs have u tried maybe giving him rice cereal the one u mix with water ?
Don't stress. My nephew is gonna be 2 in December and he's 18 pounds. My daughter and him are both in size 3 diapers. He might just be small, doesn't mean he's unhealthy :)
yeah because with his development I think he's really good everything's fine he hardly gets sick or anything. thank you I'll try not to worry as much. @sktraum

And yes don't freak out. My 6 year old only weighs 35 pounds. Talk and skinny. Always 5th percentile or less
I wouldn't worry. Just do ur best and as long as he's learning and progressing developmentally I would just keep moving forward. They go thru stages too tho where they don't gain much then they gain a bunch down the road a bit. That's my personal experience with my 5 kids.
You let him feed himself. Google it, it might help him eat better

really? my son is thin and a little long also I guess they probably just want him to gain a little more weight. they made me get a little scared and worried though @sktraum
me thansmommy12292015, All babies are different, some are big and some are small. Unless there's a medical reason causing him not to gain that they're concerned about? My daughter is very small for her age, she's in the 5% on the growth chart. But as long as she's continuing to grow they're fine with her being on the small side. I would maybe speak to a nutritionist who can give you some suggestions on how to help him gain weight.
My guy is 8 months and weighs 18 #'s. He won't eat any solids but yogurt. He drinks 4 oz of formula every 4 hours or so. His dr said it's ok that he's just tall and thin like a model. Lol.
