Okay so I have a friend that has taken pregnancy test before her missed period and they have all been positive even getting darker each day. She doesn't have insurance so she went to the er to have it confirmed and her urine test came back positive and blood work and ultrasound negative but they couldn't give her a reason as to how one could be positive and the other negative. So now she has actually missed her period and test still coming up positive and even darker. Any suggestions on how this could happen or what could cause it?

I don't think so. If it's too early the ultrasound won't show anything. I don't even think it can detect a sac til 5 weeks. If she's not even due for her period yet she might not be far enough along for an ultrasound to show anything. I would think blood work would detect it if urine is though.

She could have a chemical pregnancy too. A very early miscarriage can make a pee test positive but then the person ends up getting their period. But I hope that's not it!

I agree with @shellbell0391 she could just be really early. Try looking to see if there are any free early pregnancy clinics in her area. I got my pregnancy confirmed for free and my first ultrasound done at 8weeks for free at one here in Texas.

From my experience there isn't much to see until you are about 8 weeks w an ultrasound..... but it sounds like she is pregnant just really early... or it could be a chemical pregnancy.....
