My birth Story - 9 months late but here it is, sorry it's so long 🙊

Well it all started after I had my second stretch and sweep, my first one never worked unfortunately due to my cervix being more to the back more than the front so my midwife couldn't quite get to it. I had my second sweep 7 days after my first sweep on Monday 7th December, this time it was successful! For the rest of that day there was no sign of my little boy arriving. It wasn't until early hours the next morning that I started with little period like pains, couldn't get back to sleep for a while because of them, they were quite tense but I eventually manged to get back sleep for a few hours until I woke up again and they were starting to get worse. By dinner time my contractions were 20 minutes apart and starting to get more tense I went on my birthing ball for a while but after a bit I found it uncomfortable so I had to stay stood up after that. By tea time my contractions were around 5 to 7 minutes apart and were getting really painful! So rang up triage but we couldn't get through to them so we went up to the hospital and when we got there they checked me over and I was only 2cm dilated so they sent me back home because we only lived round the corner from the hospital, they told me to take a soak in the bath to try and help with the pain, so when we got back home I went in the bath for a bit and kept on timing my contractions, eventually they were every 3 minutes apart and getting really painful by this point so I got out of the bath, got dried and put my pj's on then went downstairs, by this point it had been 2 hours since going to the hospital so I rang up triage again and they told me to come back in, so back in the car going over the bumps making the pain 10x worse but eventually we arrived. When we got in I passed over my notes at the reception and they took me down to the birthing suite and examined me over again and told me I was 3cm dilated. I asked them were there any pools available because I wanted a water birth but unfortunately they were full so I stayed in the birthing suite which was really nice and cosy. They had a bath in there so I stayed in there throughout my contractions which did help a lot not long after the midwife came back in to examine me so I got out of the bath and I was only fully dilated! No wonder I was in much more agony and had more pressure down there! I dilated quite fast from when she last examined me. So i got onto tge bed and she said in my next contractions to push, it only then hit me that my little boy would soon be with me! Before each push I had a couple of puffs of gas & air to help me with my breathing and after a few pushes later my little baby boy entered the world on the 10-12-15 at 2.10am weighing 8lb 1.8oz I never felt love like it! my labour time was 6hrs 46mins 😊I'm so glad I didn't have any pain relief because I can remember every second of my labour and little Jacob was wide awake 5 hours straight after my labour it's something to treasure for the rest of my life 😍 would definitely do it all over again,I had a few scares and complications after birth but I was okay in the end 👶💙 #birthstory
