sleep when the baby sleeps as much as possible, it can get overwhelming if it does put baby in his or her crib and give yourself a 10 min break and calm your mind and emotions, and remember they aren't little forever so enjoy it while you have the moment.

Don't be afraid to ask for help! PPD is a real thing! If you feel frustrated call for someone. Even if it's just over the phone! I went through some bad baby blues and it wasn't until I got to such a bad point that I realized I needed help. It's okay! We all go through it!

For breastfeeding one of the best piece of advice I got was trust your body and your baby's bond. They work together and you will produce what you need for your child.

It does not make you weak or less of a mommy to get help, it's a big relief even if you don't think so. Remember to take pictures (don't think of how you look, w extra baby weight) one day they will want to see how the ones who raised them looked and you'll want them to see, no matter how messed up your hair was but it was their first time walking or sitting up. Precious moments, house will get cleaned, you will lose the baby fat and you'll never get enough sleep lol so be thankful for your blessing and enjoy it so not worry about the little things in life it'll all come together.

If someone offers help, take it. You need to take care of yourself too. Enjoy the little moments. The moment of quiet when it's just you and your baby in the middle of the night, the first time your baby smiles at you, seeing your significant other with your baby for the first time. The little things end up being the big things. Get out of the house. Cabin fever will drive you crazy. Take lots of pictures. And sometimes when your house is utter chaos and the children are driving you crazy, just laugh. Laughter has been so therapeutic for me. Spend time, alone with your husband. You both need it. It will remind you that you are grown ups and can do grown up things. Lol.

Upcoming new moms of boys, if you plan on getting him circumcised make sure you have the nurses instruct you on how to care for it the first week. I was not told and it was hell getting it taken care of. I'll go into detail if you would like to know but it was awful. MamaRoo is a great invention and so is the Boppie!

Take time outs if nothing will soothe your baby. set baby in a safe spot for five minutes and walk away. you need to clear your head and breathe. also, boppy, hands down & a swing!!!

Don't ever doubt yourself. It can get hard but every mom has to go through it a first time. Not every one is just a perfect mother from the start, it's ok to make mistakes! If people are willing to help let them. I don't mean you have to hand your baby off 24/7 but if you can get a shower and a meal in while someone is watching baby go for it. If someone offers to cook a meal or take out the trash.. Let them! The first 8 weeks are challenging they will cry, they will cluster feed, and they will need every part of you but it's okay because you will miss them being that tiny and needing you so much. Don't forget about you SO it's a drastic change for them too.. But with that being said some dads think it's ok to not help you at all because they work but please instill in them that it's more than a diaper change or some peace for you but it's to create that bond with their child it's so important that he establishes a bond as well. Breastfeeding can be tough the first few weeks your nipples will hurt and can actually bleed!! Coconut oil and breastmilk on them after each feeding. Trust your body it worked on supply and demand. The more you feed your baby your body will produce more milk to meet your baby's demand. Don't go by what your getting out of the pump because your baby can get more milk out from you than the pump! Feed as much as you can! It gets easier I promise if you in pain talk to a lactation consultant they can help you with your latch and any thing you need. Ask for help! Ask as many questions as you can at the hospital don't feel like your being a problem because they're used to it and want you to ask these things. Lastly hug and kiss your little one every chance you get ! It may be stressful and a lot on you but you were chosen to be this little ones mother .. You got this!

Follow your mother instinct I knew there was something that was bugging my baby but the pediatrician kept telling me it was just colic when it really was Silent Reflux!!

It is incredibly hard! But worth it. Do what feels right to YOU no matter what anyone says, everyone has advice to give but do you. If you want to always carry your baby do it, co-sleep do it. It will all be gone before you know it and you won't get those moments again. Enjoy it:)

Know that what works best for someone else may not work well for you and your baby. Do what works for you and don't listen when people are judgmental of your parenting choices.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, will have an opinion about you and how you raise your child. Don't let it get to you. They do mean well.

PPD is real, and can be scary. If you feel frustrated or hopeless or guilty for no reason get help. Even if it's calling a family member or friend. I went through it with my first child and I'm going through it now with my second. Talk to your doctor, they can help you too. Even if you don't want to be on antidepressants, they can refer you to a therapist or outreach group. Find a support group on Facebook or in your local community. And get you some mom friends!!! They will understand better than a friend who's never gone through it before. And remember: one day at a time, breathe, and it DOES get better.
