Can any first time moms tell me if you're getting an epidural? Why or why not? What influenced your…

I want to get one just cause I'm a baby and can't handle pain. But i did my research and haven't found a reason why i shouldn't get one. I'm nervous too I'm due in December.

I've looked into it as well but I like the idea of being able to be up and moving a lot faster than with an epidural. that's probably the main factor in my decision but we will see lol @mariahamiyah29

I may change my mind once I feel some good contractions going on hahah

I got one and it was the best decision I ever made. Made my labor feel not so bad and I even got to sleep right before I pushed which helped me to push her out faster!

I did with my last two and I will with this one. I hate pain

I hated it. You can't move you can't get comfortable. I hate not being in control of my body. I needed help with everything. I will not be getting it with this baby.

Honestly I really didn't want one, but once I was in active labor and didn't had more than 20 seconds in between contractions I decided I had to get it

Thanks ladies! I'm definitely open to getting one if I can't handle the pain 😊 I honestly think I'll end up having one but I don't want my mind to freak me our and get one for no reason. It was more not being able to catch my breath in between, they didn't actually hurt that bad, just felt like I kept getting the wind knocked out of me, and my sons oxygen kept lowering

I'm getting the epidural because I have a low tolerance for pain and I remember how the contractions from pitocin felt. It was hard to catch my breath like @mommytoprinceaiden092915 said and the pain became unbearable. @kdchaos

@leonandmarleighsmommy__, I was induced with pitocin too, contractions were just too close together, I literally went from 2cm to 8 cm within 20 minutes

Oh wow!!! My labor stalled out a bit but they made me sit upright with the heels of my feet touching and baby came right on down! It was such a relief when he came out! @mommytoprinceaiden092915

I chose not to get one with neither of my kids , I'm not gonna get one with this one either . I don't like the idea of a needle going in my back nor the affects it leave after , I've heard so many people say their backs hurt after getting an epidural .

Honestly if the contractions weren't so close together I could have handled it, but it was probably because of the pitocin 😕

I hated it. Before the nurse turned it on she asked said "please don't hate me after I turn this on and start upping the dosage." @kdchaos

I'm not getting an epidural, personally I don't see the need for it but that's what I feel is best for me. I've also known too many people who have had problems later on from the epidural and it's not worth the risk to me. I know I'm strong and my body was made to birth a child, but I don't judge those who choose to have one.

I didn't get one. I walked into labor with no plan, I thought if I needed it at any point I would get it. But, I labored so quickly I didn't need it, I'm glad I didn't get it because your body knows what to do when you need to push and when you have an epidural you lose that control
