HELP !! this isnt related to anything but !
yesterday my boyfriend got into a car accident ! A girl was backing up from parking space my boyfriend tried to move fast enough to avoid a problem, but he couldn't and hit my boyfriends car breaking part of the rims,tire and the pack of the car ! I was scared to death an so was my boyfriend ! & so where the other people ..anyways we tried to handle the problem with out getting the police involved or the insurance company ..and just telling the girl to pay us with cash for the car damages ! she agrees and gives her business card as I took pictures of the accident ! today I called her to try to settle a agreement & she hung up on me saying "no" ..I left her a voice message telling her I was going to get the insurance company involved now..can I get some feed back on what should I do now ?:/ am stressing out cause I tried to do this like a adult without having involving people cause I saw the girls face in shock and stressed ..now I feel played and pissed !!

Call you car insurance company and report it. They will take care of the rest. Hopefully you got her license plate of car insurance information.

Definitely. Just call now. It's not a big deal. Just tell them exactly what happened. That way you will get your car covered. Were you in the car too?

I would call the police, they will handle getting her insurance for you, DO NOT CALM YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY IT WILL COUNT AGAINST YOU AND RAISE YOUR RATES. I have something similar happen to me told the cops and they gave me her insurance company and all of her info so I didn't have to even talk to her about it just brought my car to the shop and she had to pay for it. But technically if she was backing up and you were traveling behind her you would be at fault.

Ya being rear ended by anyone is the person who hits the car from behind's fault. Lame, but I believe that's how it is. Like @mommytoprinceaiden092915 said

Make sure your boyfriend tells them you are pregnant as well. Every state has different laws & I don't know where you are, but if you don't report it to insurance, she still can. And then they will be calling you anyway. And your rates don't go up if you are not at fault in the accident. I used to work for the Legal Group for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

no, my boyfriend was trying to park to the right parking spaces and was just waiting for his parking space ! she didnt even turn to look if we was be hide her and went revers so fast that moved my boyfriend car from position. He used his horn to let her know not to back up cUse he was there .

I would look up your states laws but here in Texas if your behind the person your automatically at fault no matter what the cause of the accident

I worked for geico for a little bit that would be 50/50 both your bf and she was negligent and the repairs from your damages will come from your insurance

When your getting out of a parking space aren't you supposed to look around ? areant that's why there are mirrors to look be hide you ? how can you not see a black ford expedition the size of a monster truck ? like are you blind ? !! she didnt look back to see we was there ! she even told me she was under pressure and was going through some personal problems ! that type of person shouldn't be in the road to being with ! But anyways I was stupid enough to take her word for it and believe was would settle this like adults !

I would just talk to the local police of dmv and find out how that works I know most states automatically put you at fault if your behind them

Call the police and report the accident. Give them her information and then let your insurance handle it

It's not much you can do without a police report it's just ur word against hers
