Can Down syndrome be detected through ultrasound ?

@brandosmommy, they CAN see through ultrasound, it has something to do with the neck, they look at 20 weeks and they also do blood work at that time too

Well are they doing further testing or are they giving you a straight forward opinion.

They did the trisomy w,e it called through blood work @2queenbee9

See but they did that and said he had no fluid in his neck and that he was fine @anaperalta03

but that is trisomy 18

usually between 15 and 20 weeks they do a quad screen to check for down syndrome as well as a bunch of other genetic testing for other things that may be prevalent in your family

Your further along so idk if it is detectable in a ultrasound. I had all this done in my first trimester

Through a ultra sound they found too much liquid in her neck bringing up reason for concern. And they said they won't know for sure unless I did the CVS procedure which gives a more accurate answer then blood work or ultrasound cause they are testing the babies actually DNA

But how can you sit there and tell someone that their baby is healthy then sit there and say you don't know ? @housfullofgrls

I was told this baby may have a chance of having Down syndrome so I got a CVS (amniocentesis) done

They could be wrong, it's happened many times before. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. That's all you can do at this point. Be strong.

Because they did the trisomy 21 test and they have been telling me he's healthy and now they are say he might have dwarfism or downs @housfullofgrls
