am I weird for having my bf get a genetic test done even though we both know our son is his?

well my bf and I were broken up at the time we conceived our son. but he's the only person I've ever slept with. I guess just some piece of mind for him? it's also if we were to break up and we don't end well he will know for sure that he is his. idk lol
