Quick question.
So for my choice of birth control I chose the Mirena. I have my appointment for it tomorrow.
But I started my period today.
Will they still be able to put it in or will they make me wait until after my period.

I don't think so, they like it better when you're on your period because that way they know you're not pregnant

They can put it in at anytime. Some doctors do it differently but they can anytime. (this is my 2nd one) My OB said it's best to wait until close to the end of your period because then your cycles won't be all messed up. I got mine a week after my period and they are fine. I'm almost hitting the 3 month mark and last time that's when my periods ended. I mean you could still bleed and be pregnant but they'll give you a PG test first.

I didn't with my first one for almost 4 years. This one I've only had about 8 weeks so it hasn't happened yet but it did the first time for me. That was a huge selling point for me because I knew it worked the first time. @ftm0622 I got pregnant 2 months of removal.

@jacesterlingsmommy, okay so my SO and I had sex twice in one night about 2 weeks ago. We used a condom both times but when we did it the second time, he didn't put a condom right away. I got my period today. Are you saying I could still be pregnant?? He didn't tell me he didn't put it on right away. I wasn't facing him. But I've been extremely nauseous and lightheaded today. Now I'm wondering if it's from my period or from potentially being pregnant.

There's always a chance you could be. It's probably unlikely but it could definitely happen from precum. Not to scare you! More than likely you're fine but there's always a chance especially if it was about 2 weeks ago when you were proabbly ovulating.
