Thinking about learning Spanish so I can help teach Ava Spanish. My fiancé speaks Spanish but since his family isn't involved and he works long hours there's not really a way for her to learn Spanish

The best thing to do is to have your fiancé only talk to the baby in Spanish. That's the best way for a child to learn a 2nd language from a native speaker.

@kenitra, I know but he's not home enough. He works 12 hour shifts 6 days a week . He's in construction>.<

But they learn language over time so that could still work. It takes well past the age of 2 for a child to be fluent when learning 2 languages at home. It's worth a try. Because if she doesn't learn from a native speaker, she will have an accent.

I have lots of friends and family where the mother/father are from different countries. Each parent only talks to the kids in their own native language. It's the very best way for them to learn!

Well my first language is English but I speak Hebrew and never had an accent so it never dawned on me.
