In Arizona we have to wait until we get the approval..

In Illinois, no. I took a CNA class at my community college and they knew that I was in the class and would be taking the test soon.

Here you have to have the test and pass before you can get a job. My friend tried to apply places before hand they said they needed proof of certification. But left her job open until it happened. I just waited until I had mine to apply.
