I was only 1cm and it didn't work for me. It didn't really work and make me dilate until after I had the foley balloon put in, and when they pulled it out I was like 4 1/2cm. So the nurse was rough in my cervix while doing the sweep, and it seemed to help. So I defiantly think the more dilated you are the better

I was 1cm and got the sweep done on a Friday. Started loosing my plug over that weekend and Tuesday I went in labor. Got a second sweep done while in labor and had my daughter that Tuesday night.

I'm not sure if mine helped I got mine swept on the day of my due date. I drank castor oil that night I had her 5 hours later😊☺️
