We messed up and gave Marley a wub-a-nub paci, they have like a hospital paci on it and a stuffed animal on the end if anyone's not sure what they are. And now she won't latch to on to my nipple cause it's not as long as the paci that she got use too😔 I had to have help the last feeding and now have to get the nurse to help me again. I know it's not that big of a deal and this is so silly for me to be freaking out but Im having my first Ima bad mommy moment 😔

That does not make you a bad mommy at least it happened the first time I'm sure she will forget and remember how to latch ❤️

You're not a bad mommy at all! My boys wouldn't latch properly after getting their pacis either but now it's no problem. If shes still having trouble latching see if they can give you a nipple shield. And remember practice makes perfect, both of you guys are new to breastfeeding so give her some time to readjust if needed. Good luck & don't feel bad. You're a great mommy. 😊

Defiantly get a nipple shield! That's what I'm using because I have small nipples and it's helping my daughter latch properly and immediately now.

I have one, but the lactation consultant and my nurses told me don't use it unless it's absolutely necessary, so I'm still trying. They've been showing me different ways to hold her and how to hold my boob to help her out. A few times I've had to hold her and the nurse squeezed some in her mouth so she could eat a little since I'm strictly breastfeeding @dang_dridri @haleymclain1121 but thank you I definitely needed and still need those words of wisdom! Trying not to give up hope @mamabear9456

I know exactly what you're going through, they told me the same thing & did the same things with me because I'm strictly breastfeeding as well. It's hard but don't give up. It's already gotten a little better for me & I'm only 2 weeks in.

Exactly what's happening to me! I didn't wanna give my son pacifiers because I knew there was a possibility it could mess with his latching, and it did. It's a struggle so far and he's only a week old so far. I need to get my hands on some nipple shields and a pump.

I'm trying! The way they've been telling me to hold her has definitely been helping! I think it's helping that she's sleeping better now so I can sleep too. Not screaming non stop @dang_dridri and this is day 2 for me @hardyharharleigh you definitely need a good support system too! I would have gave up by now if it wasn't for my boyfriend helping me big time

I wouldn't give mine a paci til she was at least a month. Since I'm breastfeeding I wanted her to get use to my nipple first.
Hang in there, it'll get better.
