Okay, I just know (I breastfed so I'm limited on knowledge) that breastfed babies cluster feed. So even if you use formula he might want : you to do skin to skin(be super on you a lot) or cluster feed even with formula (tiny bit while you hold him close, little bit at a time every like 30 minutes. Well in the end babies just cry, but those are possible out of the box suggestions. REMEMBER HE WAS INSIDE OF YOU! he wants to be as close to you as long as possible!!! (Varies in different babies!)
Also: there is no problem with formula!!! I almost put my son on plum formula! Bought it and everything. Still going ok with breastfeeding but it's there in case of emergency

I had to stop breast feeding because I went from 11oz a session to 1/2oz and he was losing weight drastically @yanald90
