I need advice I don't want to have an epidural cause I don't want the baby drugged up but everyone…

i dont REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!! and when i hsve another if everything goes ok i plan to have it all natural

what advice can you give me if u want u can message me if it easier

SUPPORT SYSTEM IS EVERYTHING! I had 20 hours labor all natural, and my fiancé, my mother in law and my mom were the people I chose to be in the room with me. They were so amazing to me every contraction. Remember it's all about YOUR comfort. & DO NOT feel like you failed if you give in to one, I almost did but I pushed through it. Ice chips, and cold wash cloths were my best friends. If you want a massage, tell whoever your needs / wants and that's exactly what I did to help me.

I wanted to go natural but 7 hours in I couldn't handle the pain anymore. But every women's pain tolerance is different. Just know that it's okay if you get the epidural. And nobody will judge you for it ☺️ but if you really wanna go natural, don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Because you can

How much of an effect (or as you worded it; "drugged".) the epidural will have is difficult to tell and can vary based on dosage, the length of labor, and the characteristics of each baby. And then, of course there is regular epidurals and walking epidurals. I'd talk to your doctor and then decide what you want to do.

I was induced. And once my water broke, my contractions where so painful there was absolutely no way I could handle it. I was crying and screaming. It was awful. Once I got the epidural, it was seriously like instant relief. I was able to sleep, and felt so much better. I got my epidural around 4am and didn't have my baby until 12:15pm. So that would've been a long time to be in pain. The extra rest I got to really helped me. My baby came out perfect, and latched to breastfeed perfectly. She didn't seem drugged up at all..

I had the same mind set as you, I wanted nothing but to go all natural my mom did with me so I felt I should too. Support system is really important, I had a good team but as I found out when I'm in that much pain I don't like anyone touching me not even my husband! After my water broke (5cm) I couldn't take it anymore. Well by the time I was 7cm my baby's heartbeat kept dropping and mine was doing some crazy stuff too. So I asked for it and honestly don't regret it. I still felt everything it just helped with the contractions. After 13 hours and a 9 pound 6 ounce baby girl I don't regret a thing ! Your going to be so happy when your baby's on your chest the pain you just went through immediately goes away. The advice I would give would be to do what you want, if you want a natural labor go for it if you realize you want the epidural get it. Good luck ! @katlovesj

I got the epidural, I had to get 2 doses of it and still didn't help me with pain or anything I'm a FTM and I felt everything ! Baby was doing great the whole time no problem with the epidural just didn't work for me I guess. And when my baby girl came out she was perfectly healthy and cried right away

I didn't have an epidural and I was in labor for 27 hours on pitocin the whole time. My water broke naturally but I was only 2 cm at the time, so I was hooked up to pitocin. I never once felt any pain that was unbearable. I could talk, laugh, and sleep through all the contractions, I just had to focus on something other than the pain.
