Hello mommies I'm a FTM and my baby is a month old. A few people told me when you lay your baby on their stomach they sleep longer but I'm to paranoid to do that yet. How many months should I wait until I let him sleep on his stomach ?

It's best to wait until he can lift and turn his head to either side with ease.

A month and half. I would only let my baby sleep on her belly if I was awake and could constantly check on her. She loved sleeping on her belly but I was too scared to let her sleep on her belly while I was sleeping

My daughter is 6 months and can roll both directions and she's yet to sleep on her tummy, but for that young I wouldn't let her sleep that way the risk of sids is too high since they don't have good head control. They will sleep longer when they are ready no need to try and force it

@amaperalta03,right. My mom said try during the day when I'm up... I'll give it another month. I'm always checking on him non stop so for him to sleep on his belly now I'm to scared

I would wait. Just to be on the safe side.

Back in the day parents had their babies sleep on their bellies all the time. But now with this sids I'd be cautious. And yes listen to your mom let him sleep like that during the day when you are up and alert to watch him. I know being a FTM is hard and tiring so hopefully soon he will sleep more so you can get more rest. And I know your not trying to force any sleep on him you just want him to be more comfortable

@amaperalta03, I mean I'm not complaining he sleeps good he usually get up after 1am and then after 5am. I'm still going to wait tho lol. Yes being a FTM is very hard people say I need to relax more but I can't lol
