This might be a dumb question, but is it harder to go in to labor on your own if baby is breech?

If baby is breech you may have a scheduled c-section. You can try to have your dr turn your baby but I've heard it's painful 😕 I can imagine it would be harder to go into labor on your own though

If the baby is breach, c-section is mandatory. But, the doctor may be able to flip the baby. My friend went to a special "baby whisperer" that flipped the baby no problems(: Actually going into labor? I'm not sure. I'm sure your body will tell you when baby is done cooking though either way.

@jennatess, @marinarose thanks! I knew the chances of c section were pretty likely I was just curious if you would still naturally go in to labor without babies head being down and engaged. I'm not sure how that works! 🤔

You can. And some Drs will deliver like that but the majority of Drs will not do it. My SIL tried having her baby turned but it hurt her really bad and the baby refused to turn. But everyone is different 😊

There is doctors who deliver if they're breech is just a big risk. I saw pictures of a home birth and it was a breech baby. I guess it depends on the Dr.

@marinarose, it seems like it would not be comfortable lol. I know he still has time to turn so I'm not too concerned...yet. 😬

Lol don't worry. All of my friends had c-sections and they all prefer it over vaginal. They like knowing exactly when their baby would be here. And they didn't have to go through contractions. Maybe try some at home ways to turn him. I heard the yoga ball does the trick 🤔

@marinarose, I'm the opposite! The idea of a c section terrifies me! My others have been natural, vaginal births. I will try the ball! Thanks ☺️

I went into preterm labor at 27 weeks with my son. He was frank breech. I stayed in the hospital from 29 weeks forward. We tried the ECV a week before he was born...he turned right back. All that pain for nothing!!! You MAY get a cesarean depending on several factors. (I opted to deliver my son vaginally because we didn't have any complications.) While in some cases it is safer for mom and baby to have a cesarean, a doctor cannot legally or ethically force a cesarean, just like they cannot force a vaginally delivery.
