Your supply will correct itself in 24-48 hours. If there aren't any changes in your supply after that, you are probably producing enough for your baby. If you are still concerned, call the lactation consultant at your hospital or clinic.

@emilyd, I had quit pumping/latching cause I couldn't get my supply up enough for baby. I saw a lactation consultant and she was only getting 2ml a breast at a time. I've tried supplements, herbs, power pumping, etc and no increase. I quit pumping/latching about 2 weeks ago, but now when I massage my breast I'm getting milk, and a decent amount I think since I haven't done anything with them in 2 weeks, so I want to try again.. Just wasn't sure how long it would take to see increase of it was going to happen this time?

Your baby is only one month, yeah? I would assume she wasn't gaining weight if you've already seen a lac consultant and quit nursing. Newborns' tummies are very tiny. They only need so much at every feeding. You could most definitely try to get your baby to latch. Babies are much more effective at getting milk than any pump. @jwalkn4

She wasn't getting enough from me so we had to supplement.. She is now taking between 3-4oz at a feeding. When I quit she was taking 2oz a feeding and only getting 2ml a breast. I would pump every 2-3 hours and only get 2oz a day (both breast combined). She latched on tonight for a minute or so.. She will latch perfectly finally but I need a supply to keep up with her!

I noticed an increase after about 24 hours. I would still try to get him to latch even if for a few minutes. Then I was pumping every three hours even if he ate. At least 15-20 minutes each side.

@jwalkn4, I'm so glad your baby latched! That's super positive! Keep trying, warrior mama. You are amazing whether your baby breastfeeds or not. Be proud no matter what 😃

Thanks @haydensmommy5 I am definitely going to focus on her latching, to stimulate my breast if nothing else, and pump every time afterwards to help increase supply. And @emilyd it took me a good week after I quit the first time to accept it and not feel like I was failing her which is my only concern with starting back, is if I don't produce enough, then I'm going to go through that again.. But I want it so bad I have to try.
