what are ways a step parent can better a relationship between the kids like become closer and trust my middle son is now 4 I starting dating my bf when he was 2...my son some days will talk my bfs ear off and be playful then most days he will be quiet and not talk he will just shurg his shoulders or say Idk or because to questions,the most my bf has ever done is recorrected his behavior with words or put him in time out for 5 mins ....

Could they maybe go out and do something together, like bonding time?? My youngest stepbrother is almost 8, my dad and stepmom have been together since he was 3, and their relationship is still like that but it has gotten better. It'll get easier as he gets older, too. 4 is still pretty young and it's harder to communicate and find some common ground with a 4 year old than it is with an older child.

I hope he starts to understand today he asked why I'm not nice to his dad like I am in a picture I let him and his brother have of us when we were together I'm thinking I want to replace the picture with me and his step dad Idk how to explain to him that I'm with somebody else and him and his dad are they past
