Just seen the most unhelpful doctor ever. My back is so sore & he just prescribed me Codeine. He said that its fine to take but he's prescribed me 4 tablets 4 times a day! I don't want to take them and have my baby have that in her system. They become dependent if taken during the end of pregnancy. I'm so upset with him. I asked for help and not tablets. But he just wanted me out of there I think

There is nothing else they can do for you really even the physio recommends codeine and some are put on morphine for spd etc. I've had to take codeine due to a prolapsed disc in my spine and unstable pelvis in my last two pregnancies and the baby was fine. A support belt can ease some pain but not all and other than rest all the time there isn't more they can offer u can try swimming too

I'm going swimming this afternoon to try and relax it, I just am scared to take codeine. Especially that much @suzie80. Xx

I had spd when i had my 3rd baby and doc told me to take codeine, he said to me i had to be taking extreme amounts on a daily basis for it to affect the baby as i was worried about the same thing, anyway i took 3 a day for about 4 months and baby was fine, maybe dont take as much hun start of with one or 2 tabs a day, just to see if it helps at all it might just take the edge off the pain xx

@emmaelaine, as long as it's the lower dosage it should be fine... I was prescribed codine for back pain at the start of pregnancy but its eased since then and I've not had to take it as often. You don't need to take it 4 times a day.. Just however much you feel is necessary :) xx

Take epsom salt baths that always helps with my achy and painful bones and muscles xxx
