Yes saline solution with a nose sucker is safe, it moistens the inside so when you're sucking it isn't too dry. Also my dr told me to get the tube that you suck from with your mouth while its in his nose (sounds gross but works I guess and just be careful not to suck it into your mouth lol) because the tube gets more into his nose and gets more out than the ball suckers they use at the hospital

if you're breastfeeding you can use breast milk as a saline solution. just Google exactly how to do it, I think you mix a few drops in with a drop or two of water but I'm not exactly sure.

The nose sucker she's talking about is called the nose frida! It works pretty good but the part that you put in the nose in my opinion is a little big and may not fit In a newborns nose but definitely try saline solution it helps loosen them !

try to use a warm damp Q tip. gently try to get out that way
