Kinda hate having to explain that by natural birth i mean unmedicated birth. As in the most natural form of birth. The way my doctor describes natural birth. People always wanna get butt hurt when I explain what I mean too. Told a friend i wanted to try natural birth during a conversation today, but that if it got to the point where i needed pain meds to relax my body and progress labor in hopes to avoid C-section, that i wasnt completely against it. She said she thought natural birth meant vaginal birth with epidural. Sometimes I wish there were seperate terms for the two, because they arent the same thing and its annoying to have to explain it to people when they ask. Ive even had delivery nurses get confused by what i meant when i said i wanted to try natural birth. But then if I suggest using different terms for natural vs medicated vaginal childbirth, I get called a bitch whos just looking for a trophy and that I just wanna be better than women who want the pain meds from the start. Honestly I couldnt care less if someone else uses meds, do you girl, own that shit. A healthy baby is the end goal and as long as you get there, do whats right for you along the way. I guess I just wish there was some other terminology so people knew what I was talking about from the get go. Im sure this post is about to get me blocked and hated on too. Birth is birth no matter what happens along the way. I just wish it was easier way to let people know what i want to do without having to explain the difference before they assume i want all the meds possible.

@rari, I feel just like u girl and yes some people get it twisted. This might clear up some things what I recently learned is that typically all hospital births have standard protocol and rules regardless of what the women want so when lots of people in the medical industry here natural birth they usually think it would take place outside a hospital. To make it sound simple hospitals are medicated period. We took birthing classes at the hospital and one of the question they asked us in class was do u want a medicated birth or natural birth and it was worded exactly like that out of 8 couple I was the only woman wish to be not medicated. I feel just like u if I need it it's there but wish and hope to not. We're strong. However now after reading rules and regulations I know my second child will be born at a birthing center not a hospital. If I wasn't so far preg when I took the class I would have changed then but felt it was to late in my pregnancy. I would find out the rules and regulations of the hospital before u get your mind set. Hope this helps
