My labor story!

On August 2, I was 41+1 and I went to the hospital at 7:00pm for my induction. I was 2 cm and 50% effaced going in At 9:00 I had a foley bulb inserted as well as Cytotec. Holy hell that was painful. I sat on the toilet because that was the most comfortable place to sit, and at 10:00 the foley bulb came out. They came and checked me, I was 4 cm. They hooked me up to Pitocin at this point. I tried to rest but contractions were starting so I walked around the L&D floor. I went back to my room to get headphones and my water broke... All. Over. The floor. Then the fun began... My contractions got so bad. I tried breathing through them (I was trying to go natural). It got to the point though that my body was in a constant state of contracting and tension no matter what I did. After about 12 hours of active labor, I tried going in the tub as a last resort. It offered some temporary relief but after that I got checked and had only progressed to 5 cm since the foley bulb came out so I decided to get an epidural. Best decision ever. I got some rest, used the peanut ball, and in a matter of hours I was fully dilated and effaced. Around 9:30pm the resident doctor had me give a practice push and yelled at me to STOP! because she was coming out. They called my OB, she came quickly, and in 3 pushes, miss Natalie was here at 10:40pm. #LaborDay
