ok moms so im from Australia and heard alot about whopping cough affecting new borns and for women to take it very seriously. i have alot of friends saying people can not see there baby for first 6 weeks unless they have the whopping shot (lots of babies dying in AUS). any of you heard of this here?

Oh ok. Yeah usually they say keep the babies in before they get their shots but you don't really have to.

A lot of people make their close relatives get the vaccine for it, it's recommended

Usually you can ask close family and friends to get vaccinated for the whooping cough to prevent it. No one held my daughter besides me, her dad and her doctor. I would let other people see and look at her but they weren't allowed to hold or touch her. That's just what I wanted and my husband was all for it.

They strongly suggest anyone who holds the baby have the vaccine but not required. Its up to the parents. I got mine when I gave birth, my husband on the other hand refuses because he hates needles. Whoopping cough is dangerous to babies because they dont normally get the normal signs. Instead of coughing they normally just stop breathing. :(

thank you ladies, trying to get opinions but will check with my dr tomorrow. i feel crazy asking people to get it or telling them they cant hold my babe but its taken so serious that i prob will (my hubbies family wont like me very much 🙊🙊) @junesmommy_15 @housfullofgrls @babynessa @karramaej
