Opinions please- Why is one rule for mums and different for dads? My OH had a right moan at me the other day when I went out with the girls and had drinks because Albie was crying and had him from 12.30pm-7.30pm and apaz that's a piss take? But he can go to work all day and then football after and that's fine for him to then call me say I'm gonna be back late because it started late yet I I have half a day out with the girls and I'm out of order for leaving him with Albie?! I can't understand this logic I have NO issue with him doing football/ going to the pub but he made me feel awful about coming home at 7.30 I was only gone for 7 hours I have him all day every day and I don't call him to come home apart from when he has his jabs and I didn't know what to do when Albie cried, I don't wake him in the nights to feed, Albie unless I'm shattered and he's only had alb once before when I went out with my best friend in the night and now I'm sitting here and the more I think about the more I'm brewing, please tell me I'm not bring ridic??

Sad to say Hun even though you are right it's always the same men don't understand any of this and don't see that they're actually worse xx
Gabi·
Have you sat him down and explained everything you just said and how it made you feel xx

@gabilicious, don't get me wrong i think it's good he goes to football once or twice a week and I'd like it if he went out with his friends more BUT he made me feel so bad about going out and coming back at 7.30 which tbh I don't think is late at all yet it's fine for him to be out all day at work then head off to football after I just don't understand the logic where this is fair? I know men work in different ways to us and aren't naturally wired to be a neutering as woman But it be nice to know that I should be able to have a girls day or a break without feeling guilty when he has no qualms about being out xxx

No. Typical men thinking the world revolves around them @holliesinead They need reminding of exactly what you've just said. Did you tell him so? I find my husband funny as he'll organise a night out or some trip to London with the lads. Which I'm more than happy for him to do. But I feel I can't do that. Or when I've said oh I'm out at the weekend he looks up at me like 'what, why for how long?' & I have to explain it. When I'm thinking you plan things within a thought. It's because we are the main carers & we're used to having the children 24/7 where they don't. Not their fault but they go to work, they leave the house by themselves. They get to go on a lunch break by themselves. Travel home listen to music play on their games etc. We don't have quite that much freedom!

Yeah I know what you mean, you need to tell him that and he needs to understand that you need time out for yourself to be you not just Albie's mummy, I don't think men will ever understand, maybe try arranging girls night out or something once or twice a month as a regular thing so he sort of gets used to it, and it'd give you time for yourself as well, explain to him in a calm manner that it's ok for you to go as it is for him as well and that you both need to go out sometimes so you get a break xx @holliesinead

@sara-lou, literally Hun it's like he had him Thursday to take him to his mums for two hours so I could have a break to myself for two hours then ovbs again on Saturday and it's like I neglected the pair of them! I get they aren't used to it but I find men will never understand how hard it is being a mum all day every day! @gabilicious thanks for the advice Hun your the best 😘

Anytime Hun just men need some guidance sometimes xx

They don't get how hard taking care of a baby is! Don't feel bad you are entitled to some you time. He's the parent too, it's not just your responsibility to look after him xx
