Are the blood test to find out the babys gender early covered by insurance or do you have to pay out of pocket for them?

Most insurance only covers it if there is a history of chromosomal disorders in mother or father's family or if you are 35 and up. The test is actually to test the chromosomes for birth defects like Down's Syndrome. Finding out the gender is a side benefit :). It's about $2,500 if your insurance doesn't cover.

I have no idea about the specifics and I've never heard of Melina, but call tomorrow when they are open and ask if the Quad 4 screening is covered with the gender determination. another thing you can do is have them run your insurance. just call them and ask them if your insurance would cover it.

I have Melina. I have a doctors appointment in the 12th and they're doing labs and I was thinking about doing the blood test. @emily18234
