Need advise moms! So our son is 6 days old today and my husbands cousin which i do not care for wants me to come to a bbq and gifts for Princeton. I dont want to go because i feel he is to small for him to be around a lot of ppl. Plus I know there will be drinking and they smoke outside. I dont want princeton to be around there and i dont want him to be passed around. My husband is begging me to go. He wont come til later so it will be me with his mom around all his ppl who dont care for me. Would you go and have you husband set boundaries before hand or not go at all? I dont have the energy to get into it with anyone.

Especially if he wont be there, i woulfnt go until he was going but if they are going to be smoking anf all that no. Not for a baby that new.

@er0826, no way! She's way too new. I made my husband cancel his brother's family coming this weekend bc their little girl got sick. No risk is worth it imo when they are thus tiny.

I would 100% not go. The baby is way too little. Obviously the person having this BBQ isn't very smart to even think it's an option. Let him stop by on his own later if he wants to go so badly.

As much as I wouldn't go, if you do end up forced into going it might be a good idea to wear your baby. That way he doesn't get passed around. If he's strapped to your chest then you have an excuse to keep people from grabbing him. I hope your husband understands though and you don't end up dealing with this at all!

I had a c section so no where near healed. My mother in law is going and she called my husband cousin and told them no one can hold the baby. No body smokes in th house and they stay outside to air out and everything so their house doesnt snell like it but my concern is their cloths. The cousin said he completely understand and no one will hold him

Im still not sure and little one is having a growth spurt already. So he if feeding every hr and he is cranky. I dont want to pull my boob out every 5 mins in front of everyone. Right now my husband and i arent speaking...this is some bull

I'm not going...I just wish my husband would understand. I dont care what his fam thinks but I do care what he think however im not going to take my son out this early to please his fam
