I hate when people get so offended because I tell them my life is pretty different from the average person and people sometimes don't understand why things happen the way they do. For anyone who is married to a first responder i.e. Police officer, firefighter, or even someone in the army it literally feels like your a single parent. We have to operate a lot differently so we're not even giving ourself anytime to think because if we do we think the worse. A lot of people don't have to live with the fear of your s.o not coming home or them missing holidays birthdays and first steps. When they finally have a day off its you and them all day and your single friends don't understand why you always rush home because "you see him all the time" 🖐🏽 no I don't and everyday I get to see him is a blessing. I know there is a lot of hate for police officers right now but not all of them are terrible and I'm sure a lot of them would rather see their child's milestones rather than out there risking their lives for people who don't even appreciate them! Sorry about that rant lol I hair remembered a convo I had with a co worker that irked me

Мама двоих (4 года, 6 лет), ждёт третьего

My mom was in the army when I was little and then a police officer. She was never. home. Even on holidays, I saw her for a few hours at the end of the day. She never saw me open my presents, she was never at@my birthday parties, she was never at school functions. It was hard. By the time she quit the force, I was in high school, and our relationship suffered. 😔 I love her but damn that sucked.

@wisky80wifey I definitely understand my husband is in the military and it is hard at times and it takes a strong person to deal with what we deal with.....but like I always says what's understood doesn't have to be explained

I totally get it! My husband is Active duty Air Force, he is security forces. He can get a call at any time that takes him into work. We were out getting take out the other night and he got a call and had to go in- so we sat in his office eating take out while he worked lol. But I totally agree- some friends really really don't understand! We live on base so I am very thankful for the close friends I have here and they get it because it's their life too :)

Even though my SO isn't a first responder I totally understand what you are saying and I am on your side. That is an amazing job he has though. I have been in an ambulance many times and I deeply appreciate all the nice people. And also I appreciate all the nice police. They do such a good job. They have always helped me. And as hard as it is you are both doing a good job. And you have the right to rant about that. No one should say you see him all the time and stuff. Obviously you know how your life is. Much gratitude and thanks goes to your SO for all he does. And you are both wonderful parents

@babes101116, that's one of my fears and I think it's starting to affect his son because he doesn't even want to stay at our house anymore ☹️
